Survey extended – blame the rain

Due to the poor weather recently, I haven’t been able to do as much surveying of the public as I had originally planned.  The prospect of standing in a downpour at Hexham Farmers Market last Saturday was not appealing!  Although I managed to spend a couple of hours speaking to people walking their dogs at the Lower Derwent this week, it’s looking like my plans to catch people at the Quayside Market this Sunday will also be rained off.

So the survey is going to be extended for another week, and will now close on 25 June.  This should hopefully still allow me time to collate the responses (142 so far, with over 200 issues raised) in time for the first Strategy Group meeting in early July.

Let’s hope for some sunshine – who knew developing a plan to improve our rivers would be so weather dependent?
